Human Fluent Technology: Introducing AI in Public-Facing Services in Australia

On May 20, 2019, Sora Park engaged faculty from TDS and ASU’s interdisciplinary IoT collaborative in a lively discussion on the Australian government’s use of AI.  She introduced a preliminary taxonomy of human fluent technology and used the concept to empirically examine the development of an intelligent user interface – Nadia – that was designed for disabled users of government services in Australia. 

Sora Park is the Associate Dean for Research at the Faculty of Arts and Design and Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Canberra.  Her research focuses on digital media users, media markets and media policy, and has written widely on how digital media is transforming communication, media and society.
