Catalina Canals
Ph.D. Candidate
Catalina Canals is a Ph.D. candidate in Complex System Engineering at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and an assistant researcher at the Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE) of the Universidad de Chile. Her work focuses on the education system, especially in the study of school choice, educational markets, and gender differences in educational choices and outcomes. Her ongoing dissertation project analyzes structural factors affecting public enrolment in primary and secondary education using Agent-based modeling. She holds a Sociology degree and a Master's degree in Applied Economics from Universidad de Chile.
